Description:

SCOPE OF WORK

This project includes the analysis of existing operational conditions, intersection control evaluation, concept

development, construction plans and specifications and construction engineering services for the Broadway,

Toole, and California Intersection project. The initial scope for this contract will include an Intersection

Control Evaluation and Alternative Concept Development, as described below. The design phase will then be

contracted after the preferred concept is chosen. Once the plans and specifications are refined, the construction

engineering services contract will be contracted.

PROJECT GOALS

The project goals include three categories: Safety Improvements, Operational Benefits, and Access

Management. Project specific safety improvement goals include safer pedestrian and cyclist crossings and

reducing vehicle speeds. Project specific operational benefits include integration with future Broadway

corridor improvements and congestion mitigation. Project specific access improvements include pedestrian

and cyclist access, traffic traveling westbound on Broadway wanting to turn right onto Toole, and traffic

traveling northbound on California wanting to turn left onto Broadway. The safety,
