The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA, or the Authority) requires the services of a consultant to provide subject matter expertise to assist WMATA's Safety Department in a variety of professional safety and engineering consultant services to further develop a proactive culture of safety that is well-defined, sustainable, and documented through its processes, policies, and procedures. The Authority requires a consultant who can respond to a wide variety of regulatory compliance and engineering tasks that may require specific expertise including, but not limited to, bus and rail transit operations, incident investigation, fire/life safety, safety and security certification, safety management systems, hazard analysis, and occupational safety and health.
