On-Call Professional Engineering Services

The City of Seattle is seeking qualifications for On-Call Professional Engineering Services . Qualifications are due no later than 8:00 pm on Friday, November 15, 2024 . All questions are to be submitted through the e-procurement portal at https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/seattle no later than 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 24, 2024 .

Seattle City Light (SCL) seeks to engage engineering consultants to perform design, analysis, and study on City Light’s electrical system. Engineering disciplines requested include Transmission & Distribution System Planning, Distribution Service Design, Transmission Engineering, Network System Engineering, Distribution Automation, Substation Automation, Communications, Lighting Design & Analysis, and Engineering Research and Analysis.

Work will be assigned either through specific project work, in which consultants will provide engineering resources necessary to complete specific engineering projects or tasks, or through staff augmentation, with consultants providing a full-time resource to work at SCL’s discretion on engineering tasks. It is not necessary to provide all services contained in the Scope of Work as SCL may select firms based on a specific area of expertise.

City Light is often engaged in new projects or scope items that current engineering staff does not have the resources or expertise to complete in an expeditious manner. Consultants will provide City Light with invaluable assistance in delivering projects at accelerated timelines and with technical expertise critical to project success.

City Light has engineering needs for Pole Design, Streetlighting, Plan Review, Underground Cable Replacement, and Substation Engineering. Over the next 5 years, we anticipate those needs growing as we face increasing demands on our engineering staff which will need to be supplemented with consultant engineering services.
