The Work generally consists of: removal and replacement of existing concrete sidewalk panels, concrete spandrels, and concrete curb and gutter. Plus, miscellaneous work including the removal and installation of pavers, installation of retaining walls, and associated concrete improvements.
The Work also includes asphalt pavement restoration, including milling, asphalt removal, full‑depth asphalt repairs, asphalt paving, crack sealing and filling, slurry seal, seal coat, placement of aggregate base, and preparation of subgrade. Additional work includes tree wells, soil export and import, root barrier installation, implementation of all required BMPs, stormwater and erosion control, public notifications, and all necessary traffic control.
Exporting and importing of soils and implementation of all required BMP’s is also required in the performance of the Work. All work shall conform to the guidelines of the San Diego Regional Drawings and Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction (latest edition and supplement) (“Greenbook”) including landscaping installation standards.
The City requires that Bidders submit bids for Base Bid Items. City intends to award contract to the lowest responsible bidder for the Base Bid Items.
Unit prices shall prevail over extended total and grand total prices. Late bids will not be accepted. The following “Description of Base Bid Items” is part of the Bid Schedule and shall be submitted with the bid.
Determination of the lowest bid shall be based solely on the lowest TOTAL BASE BID FOR IMPROVEMENTS. Unit prices shall prevail over extended total and grand total prices. Late bids will not be accepted.
