Description


Separate, sealed Bids will be received for furnishing all materials, labor, tools, equipment, and incidentals necessary for the installation of Widening, Leveling, Resurfacing, and Signage Improvements to Jackson Road for the Irwin County, Georgia FY 2026 Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) and FY 2025 Safety Action Plan (SAP) until 10:00am (local-time) Thursday, June 18, 2026 at which time bids will be opened and read.

The meeting will be held at the Irwin County Board of Commissioners Office and will be opened to the public. Proposals can be mailed to the attention of Patricia Battle, County Clerk, Irwin County Board of Commissioners, 225 East 4th Street , Ocilla, Georgia 31774. Proposals received after the designated time will not be considered. Irwin County may select a successful low bidder after evaluation of all bids.

The Scope of Work Includes:
Widening, Leveling, Resurfacing, and Signage Improvements- Jackson Road (Total Resurfacing of 4.386 miles.)

All proposals shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond in favor of Irwin County in the amount of at least five percent (5%) of the lump sum bid for the complete work: such Bid Bond representing that the Bidder, if awarded a Contract, will promptly enter into a Contract and furnish Performance Bond and Payment Bonds as provided by the law and approved by the Attorney for Irwin County. Performance Bond shall be equal to 100 Percent (100%) of the contract amount and Payment Bond shall be equal to 100 percent (100%) of the Contract amount.

The Bid Bond shall be forfeited to Irwin County, Georgia as liquidated damages if the Bidder fails to execute the Contract and provide Performance and Payment Bonds within (10) days after being notified that he has been awarded the Contract.

All work on the project must be completed within 120 consecutive calendar days of date work begins.
