Department of Transportation SPECIFICATION
16' roll-off flatbed body with oak deck
(OR EQUIVALENT)
This specification describes the State of New Hampshire Department of Transportation's requirement
for a 16' roll-off (hooklift) flatbed body to be used on trucks with the following hook lift systems:
Swaploader SL400 manufactured by Swaploader USA, Ltd., and Stellar Slider 40 manufactured by Stellar
Industries, Inc. Unit is to be delivered to 33 Smokey Bear Boulevard, Concord, NH. Equipment will be
inspected for specification compliance prior to acceptance by the State of New Hampshire. The
successful bidder shall be solely responsible for meeting specification requirements, including delivery.
Roll-Off Flatbed Spec:
Supply One (1) roll-off flatbed body to the following specification
* The body shall be compatible with the Swaploader SL400 and the Stellar Slider 40 hook lift
system.
* 16' length; 96" width plus outside rub rails and stake pockets
* 6" x 4" x 3/8" angle side rails
* 3" channel crossmembers, 12" on center
* Floor: Oak square cut
* Steel headboard: 48" height w/ full width screen window and 6" load ears. Head board corner
posts extended down with pads to accommodate the ratchets
* [4ea] underbody ratchets with 4" x 30' straps, slide rail (curbside)
* Undersling rail (SS) - 3/8" x 2"
* (1) Chrome load bar with headboard storage
* Hooklift skid constructed of 6" x 2" x 14" wall tubing and include front a-frame (6" x 2" x 14"
tubing), 2 12" diameter hook bar, 61 34" hook height, pair of 8 12" OD diameter x 10" long steel
rollers.
* PAINT/PREPARATION:
To ensure proper adhesion and a durable finish of final coating, body manufacturer shall
o
first clean ALL surfaces of oils, greases and scale by COMMERCIAL ABRASIVE BLAST
CLEANING (SSPC-SP-6)
apply TWO (2) coats of Rust-Oleum, Heavy Duty Gray Primer #HS9381 or HB Urethane
o
primer base Red Oxide to a minimum thickness of FIVE (5) Mils.
Final coat, Lead free Omaha Orange
o
Supply 2 complete sets of SDS sheets for coatings used
o
* Undercoat body
* Supply and install conspicuity tape that shall meet the FVMVSS108 US DOT-C2 requirements
* Warranty workmanship and materials for 3 years from date of acceptance by DOT
