The project will include the furnishing of all labor, skill, equipment, and construction materials to construct the proposed improvements to the City of Missoula’s Garden City Compost facility improvements in accordance with the plans and specifications.
The Base Bid Work is generally described as follows:
• Excavation and onsite stockpiling of approximately 15,000 yd

of unsuitable fill material;
• Import, backfill and compaction of approx. 22,300 yd
3
of 4"-minus structural fill;
• 12-bay, aerated static pile (ASP) composting system with reversing pressure operating capabilities – complete with: blowers; VFD’s; aeration piping; dampers; in-floor aeration grates; concrete slab, push walls & footings; embedments; condensate collection and conveyance system;
• Two biofilters – complete with blowers; VFD’s; delivery/diffuser piping; dampers; irrigation system; mud mat, concrete slab, containment walls & footings;
• Runoff collection system including three catch basins, submersible lift station and forcemain to the Missoula WRF plant drain;
• Sensing & control system - complete with wireless temperature probes O

sensors, manual dampers, communications, outputs to VFD’s, data logging, alarms, etc.;
• New biosolids cake storage bin and pre-compost bin with new concrete slabs, embedments and cast-in-place walls/footings;
• Conex Control Building – support piers; HVAC; doors; windows; lighting; electrical;
• Condensate Collection: piping; sumps; grinder pump station; forcemain;
• Concrete rumble grate trough;
• Irrigation supply system: drilled groundwater well; casing; screen; drop pipe; pitless; piping; pump; pressure control system; irrigation control system; sprinkler piping and rotary heads;
• Ancillary site improvements, utility piping, communications systems and surface restoration
2. The Additive Alternate A Work is generally described as:
• Five-bay, aerated curing system utilizing one blower, VFD, diffuser piping and Eco-Blocks from the City’s existing “Transitional Facility” as well as one new blower, VFD and new diffuser piping;
