for 14 th Avenue Pavement Rehabilitation:

From US HWY 70 to South of 8 th St.

BID #ST2501

The City of Safford (City), Arizona hereby invites the submission of sealed Bids from properly licensed contractors for the Project 14 th Avenue Pavement Rehabilitation: From Highway 70 to just south of 8 th Street within the city limits of Safford.

The Project includes all materials and labor to mill and overlay 8,229 square yards of asphaltic pavement on 14 th Avenue. Existing pavement thickness of 14 th Avenue is approximately 4” and will require mill and replacement of the top 2” of pavement. Existing valves, manholes and survey monuments in the paving area must be adjusted to final grade. Following mill and overlay application, the street must be striped.

The Work is expected to be substantially complete in 30 days, and ready for final payment in 45 days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The anticipated date of Council approval of the Contract is May 11, 2026, and the City wishes for the awarded Contractor to begin work shortly thereafter. A Pre-Bid Conference with Site visit will be held at 10:00 AM local time, Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the MYOC Conference Room, 405 W Discovery Park Boulevard, Safford, AZ  85546. Bidding Documents, including plans, are available in digital format by written request to Andi, For security reasons, you must enable JavaScript to view this E-mail address. . Bidders shall seal and deliver their Bids by 2:00 PM local time, Thursday, April 30, 2026 to the City Clerk’s office at 717 W. Main Street, Safford, AZ 85546, where they will be publicly opened and read aloud. All Bids must include a bid bond for 10% of the total Bid amount, and all Bids must be plainly marked on the outermost packaging with “Attention: Sealed Bid - #ST2501,” and must indicate the company name and address of the Bidder and Bid closing date and time. Any Bids received after 2:00 PM local time on the above stated date will be returned unopened. The City reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, or to withhold the award for any reason the City determines. The City also reserves its right to hold any or all Bids for sixty (60) days after the Bid opening date and will not allow withdrawal of Bids during those sixty (60) days.
