COUNTY OF UNION
NOTICE TO BIDDERS
The Union County Board of Supervisors will receive sealed bids in the office of the
County Administrator, Union County Board of Supervisors, 108 E. Main Street, New Albany,
Mississippi 38652, until 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, and thereafter publicly
open them for furnishing and placing traffic stripe under maintenance contract.
Sealed bids shall be received on each of the following items. Work order(s) shall be
issued for individual assignments with payment to be made under the appropriate quantity unit
pricing. Each work order shall be completed within 45 calendar days of the date of the work
order.
Technical specifications for all material requirements, construction requirements and
construction testing shall be accomplished in strict compliance with Mississippi Standard
Specifications for State Aid Road and Bridge Construction, 2004 Edition, adopted by the office
of State Aid Road Construction of the Mississippi Department of Transportation and the Federal
Highway Administration. Said specifications are made a part hereof fully and completely as if
attached hereto, except where superseded by special provisions or amended revisions.
Special provision and revised specifications adopted and approved are made a part
hereof fully and completely as if attached hereto.
Fuel adjustment and State Aid Project Sign do not apply to this contract. Successful
Contractor shall be responsible for all maintenance of traffic and stripe during the construction
period as specified for STATE AID ROAD AND BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION.

Painted Traffic Markings:
Section 625, Painted Traffic markings, of the 2017 Edition of the Mississippi Standard
Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction is hereby amended as follows.
907-625.04—Method of Measurement
Painted traffic markings, of the specified type, will be measured by the linear foot, square foot,
or mile, from end-to-end of individual stripes.
In the case of skip lines, the measurement will include skips. The length used to measure
centerline, lane line and edge stripes will be the horizontal length computed along the stationed
control line.
Detail traffic stripe will be measured by the linear foot from end-to-end of individual stripes.
Measurement will be made along the surface of the stripe and will exclude nominal skip
intervals where specified. Stripes more than six inches in width will be converted to equivalent
lengths of six-inch stripe.
Legend, which includes railroad markings, pedestrian crosswalks and stop lines. Will be
measured by the square foot or linear foot. Pay areas of individual letters and symbols will
usually be shown on the plans and measured by the square foot. Transverse railroad bands,
pedestrian crosswalks and stop lines will generally be measured by the linear foot, in which
case, stripes more than six inches in width will be converted to equivalent lengths of six-inch
widths.
Four-inch traffic stripe marking shall be measured in accordance with Subsection 619.04 for
temporary stripe.
907-625.05 Basis of Payment
Painted traffic markings will be paid for at the contract unit price per mile, linear foot or
square foot as applicable, which price shall be full compensation for completing that
work.
