Sealed Bids for the Columbia Greenway Retaining Wall Project, Westfield, MA will be received by the Purchasing Director, Purchasing Department, 59 Court Street, Westfield, MA 01085 until 2:00 p.m. local time on September 24, 2025 at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. Sealed Bids must have outer envelope marked as “Columbia Greenway Retaining Wall, Bid No. 26-008”

The project includes, but is not limited to construction of a block retaining wall and embankment improvements between the recently completed Columbia Greenway Rail Trail project and the parking lot to the Westfield Bank on the northerly side of Chapel Street. The improvements include the installation of a new granite curbing with a varying 6” to 12” reveal, a new block retaining wall, full depth pavement section in front of the new raining wall, removal and replacement of topsoil with loam borrow and re-grading of the embankment to provide flatter slope from 3:1 to 2:1 (Max).

Qualifications:

All Bids for this project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149 § 44A(2)(C), c30 39M as amended.

Miscellaneous:

A bid deposit shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Workforce Development under the provision of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Contractor, before Bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Minimum Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed Work under this Contract.
