Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE SOURCE: The Federal Aviation Administration intends to award a single source contract to Aviat U.S.,Inc, Austin, Texas for purchase of two (2) IP-ready microwave radios with site specific transmit and receive frequencies based on current microwave radio configurations at D/10DFW complex for Field Test operations and verification in support of Brand New Air Traffic Control Systems (BNATCS) IP Microwave Solution.

In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System, AMS 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA’s decision to contract with a selected source when it is determined to be in the best interest of the FAA. This procurement is considered to be single-sourced to Aviat U.S.,Inc based on the following 5 categories: BAA Compliance, All Indoor Unit, IP Capability, Compatibility with existing FAA Power Systems, Compatibility with existing FAA Channel Banks. The impact of not having an IP ready solution for LDRCL would be failure for remaining FAA Owned Microwave Systems links in the NAS. This requirement will be awarded to Aviat U.S. Inc and is not available for full and open competition. All questions pertaining to this announcement should be addressed in writing to the Contract Specialist Connor Delaney, Connor.C-CTR.Delaney@faa.gov no later than 5:00 CST on September 17,2026
