The District will conduct a pre-bid meeting and site walk on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. The meeting will start at 10:00 a.m. at the Main Wastewater Treatment Plant, located at 2020 Wake Avenue, Oakland. After the pre-bid meeting, prospective bidders will be invited to drive in their own vehicles to key project sites:
•        First Stop: Pump Station Q (site of the odor control system), 1451 Second Street, Berkeley.
•        Second Stop: Corner of La Coste Street and 64th Street, Emeryville.
•        Third Stop: Parking area behind the Denny's restaurant at Powell Street, Emeryville.
•        Fourth Stop: Service alley behind the Banana Republic Factory Store in the Powell Street Plaza, Emeryville.
The meeting and site walk are expected to last 2 to 3 hours.
Attendees at the pre-bid meeting and site walk shall comply with the Alameda County health orders. Face coverings will be required if there is a declared Cal-OSHA Outbreak (applicable signs indicating as such will be posted). Attendees shall also cover their coughs/sneezes, practice hand washing, and shall not engage in physical contact. Attendees who disregard these health and safety requirements, as well as attendees who feel sick and/or have a cough or fever will not be allowed to attend.
Prime contractors and subcontractors are strongly encouraged to attend the pre-bid meeting and the jobsite inspection. A "sign-in" sheet will be provided at the pre-bid meeting at the Main Wastewater Treatment Plant. Requirements of the District's Contract Equity Program including the Local Hire component will be discussed and explained at the meeting.

Estimated Cost: $7,000,000 to $9,000,000
Description: Work includes, but is not limited to excavating and shoring for pits, design and installation of bypass pumping systems, preparation and installation of cured-in-place pipeline liners, developing traffic control plans, coordinating with local jurisdictions and property owners for necessary permits, providing site security, testing and properly disposing of hazardous materials, providing turnkey hydrogen peroxide feed system for odor control, all for the rehabilitation of approximately 2,500-feet of 66-inch diameter reinforced concrete pipeline and five manholes on the North Interceptor in the City of Emeryville as described in the Drawings and Specifications.
Estimated cost of this work is between $7.0 million and $9.0 million.
This project will require multiple trades and types of work including, but not limited to: demolition, saw-cutting, hazardous materials handling, excavation, shoring, backfilling, reinforced concrete placement, waterproofing, painting, coatings, welding, piping, fencing, trucking, landscaping, paving, and other required work and trades.
