Project Description: The County, on behalf of the Montgomery County Transportation Authority (“MCTA”, “Authority”), seeks a firm to provide audit services to the MCTA. The MCTA is a component unit of the County of Montgomery and is responsible for project management and right-of-way acquisition for select transportation projects overseen by the County. The MCTA receives significant reimbursements from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) for eligible right-of-way purchases, while other purchases are funded by Montgomery County’s capital budget. The MCTA owns a number of land parcels throughout the County required for active transportation projects, without any land leases. In addition, the MCTA is the mortgage-holder for a property which is receiving regular payments. All of MCTA’s transactions are tracked via QuickBooks accounting software. The selected firm will be charged with performing the MCTA’s Annual Financial Report.
