BIDDER PREQUALIFICATION REQUEST
The Christman Company has been selected as the Construction Manager at Risk by North Carolina
Museum of Art Winston-Salem for the NCMA Hanes House, Gallery and Grounds Renovation in
Winston-Salem, NC.
The project includes approximately 112,795 SF (+/-) of renovation and expansion of the existing NCMA Hanes
House, Gallery, and Grounds. This will be a comprehensive renovation of architectural and structural elements;
upgrades to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems; rework of the existing civil and utility
connections; and landscaping, life-safety improvements, and building envelope repairs. As the facility is a historic
building, the project also includes restorative elements, and portions of the work will require protecting and
working carefully around historic features to maintain the character and integrity of the facility.
**At this time, we are seeking to pre-qualify subcontractors for ALL Work Packages

April 12, 2026: Prequal Ads Issued via Interscope, Web & Papers
April 29, 2026: Information Session for Prequalification Process (Virtual @11am or 1pm)
May 26 - June 23, 2026: GMP Submission to SCO
June 5, 2026: Prequalification Paperwork Due
June 19, 2026: Prequals Appeal Period Ends
All bid dates below are tentative upon SCO Approval
June 24 - July 7, 2026: Invitation to Bid (ITB) Ad Issued via Interscope, Web & Papers
July 6, 2026: ITB & Documents Issued to Prequalified Bidders
July 21, 2026: Pre-Bid Meeting and Site Walk-thru (10am)
July 28, 2026: Last Day for Questions
August 4, 2026: Final Addenda to Bidders
August 12, 2026: Sealed Bids Due (Bid Date)
August 13 - September 8, 2026: Post Bid Interviews/Contract Negotiations
September 14, 2026: Construction Start
