The U.S. Government requests companies with the proficiency and financial means to bid on the building of a ramp at a residence



Project Title: Exterior Ramp Upgrade, ADA compliant.

Location: 357 Victoria Street, Waterkloof, Pretoria

Property Type: Heritage-Classified Residence



Overview/ Scope of Work

The project involves the removal and replacement of an existing steel accessibility ramp at a heritage-listed residence, with a new universally accessible solution that meets current codes while respecting the site’s historic character. Key components include:

• Demolition & Site Prep: Removal of the existing steel ramp; regrading and resurfacing of sidewalk and ramp area.

• Service Relocations: Adjustment and relocation of existing drainage, stormwater, electrical and HVAC services to suit the new layout.

o To include new lighting points along the ramp for safety and compliance.

• Ramp Construction: New ramp to meet accessibility and building code requirements, with heritage-sensitive design and materials.

• Custom Features:

o Fabrication and installation of custom balustrades.

o Built-in and freestanding custom seating and planters integrated into the design.

• Heritage Compliance: All works must align with heritage conservation guidelines and be approved where required.

Contractors must demonstrate experience in accessibility design and heritage-sensitive construction



A compulsory site meeting will be held at the following address:



357 Victoria Street, Waterkloof, Pretoria, Pretoria



Date: Wednesday, June 18th, 2025 at 11h00



Please confirm your attendance of the site meeting to nagleym@state.gov and kriekjx@state.gov. by Friday, June 13th, 2025.



The scope of work will be sent to you upon confirmation of attendance.



A final SOW will be sent to those attending the site meeting and a date for submission of your tender will be provided.



U.S Government Payment terms:



Note that NO DEPOSIT payments will be authorized.



The Embassy issues only fixed priced contracts; therefore, you must confirm that your prices will remain fixed. The US Embassy will make no provision for fluctuations in price or exchange rates after the order has been placed. If your price is dependent on these fluctuations, you MUST make provision for possible increases in your quoted price.



Available Payment methods:



EFT – Payment will be made within 30 calendar days after delivery of goods and/or services AND receipt of invoice, whichever is later.



Kindly be advised that as a Diplomatic Mission we represent the U.S. Government and are unable to sign any legal documents, including credit applications and T’s & C’s. By submitting a quote, you waiver any such requirement.





The attached FAR and DOSAR clauses attached form part of this contract.




  • All parties must be registered in System for award management. www.sam.gov. Instructions are attached.

  • Please provide your Unique ID once you are registered in SAM.

  • Please complete the attached NDAA form and return with the tender.

  • Please complete the Ending Illegal Discrimination declaration form and submit with the tender.
