| Design Services | Architecture/Engineering |
| Scope of Work | The NC Museum of Natural Sciences located at 11 W Jones Street in Raleigh, NC is in need of several infrastructure renovations for the Nature Exploration Center (NEC) to include new LED lighting & electrical infrastructure upgrades; first floor repairs and escalator removal & stair installation; and fire alarm system replacement. NEC LED Lighting & Electrical Infrastructure Renovation: Replace approximately 225 surface mounted HID cylinder light fixtures and approximately 51,300 SF of fluorescent lamps in the building with new LED lighting. NEC First Floor Repairs, Escalator Removal & Stair Installation: Removal of existing escalators and convert to stairs on first floor only. Provide repairs and re-leveling to the topping slab under the flooring. Once repaired, tile and carpet will also need to be replaced. NEC Fire Alarm Replacement: The existing Notifier NFS2-3030 Fire Alarm Panel manufacturer is no longer providing factory support and software for this discontinued FACP. An engineer is required to provide a new fire alarm system that is a modular control platform uniquely designed to meet the needs of applications ranging from standalone fire alarm systems to multi-panel networks with unified fire alarm, security, and mass notification functions. This shall include field devices, conduit, wiring and all required appurtenances. The existing electrical system is original to the building construction (circa 2000). All 277/480 volt Square D NEHB Panelboards within the building are obsolete and breakers are no longer available. These panels must be replaced, and the electrical distribution system must be evaluated to ensure code compliance. IN ADDITION TO the required paper submittals, please email a PDF copy of the letter of Interest and SF-254 to Shannon,Riley@dncr,nc,gov for easier electronic sharing with the pre-selection committee.
