Notice of Intent to Award a Noncompetitive Purchase of Push Buttons for Railcar Passenger Side Door with Fuji Semec Corporation

Project Description: SMART is issuing this Notice of Intent to Award a Sole-Source contract without seeking competition to Fuji Semec Corp to supply twenty (20) Push Buttons for Railcar Passenger Side Door (Internal/External) for SMART’s Nippon Sharyo Diesel Multiple-Units (DMUs). The Fuji Semec Corp Part number is SP453072-2 Rev. B.
It is SMART’s understanding that there is only one available source to supply these push buttons since they were specifically designed and manufactured for SMART’s Diesel Multiple Units (DMUs) and Fuji Semec Corp holds the proprietary design rights. Additionally, it is SMART’s understanding that Fuji Semec Corp is the original equipment manufacturer and that there are no other authorized suppliers for this equipment.
The estimated value of this contract is $30,000.00.
This notice is not a request for competitive bids or proposals and there is no solicitation available. If upon review of this Notice, vendors or suppliers determine that they are authorized and legally able to supply these push buttons, SMART requests that they submit a response to this Notice of Intent informing SMART.
