Project Description: The City of Dallas is seeking a service contract for climate-controlled motor storage for a term of four years.
Provide climate controlled storage for unused 2,000 HP vertical motor and gearbox currently located in the Vivian, LA Service Center.
A. Storage service includes rotation of the motor shaft monthly, along with documented monthly motor winding resistance to ground tests.
B. The sealed gearbox containing a moisture controlling desiccant shall be monitored for moisture content and the desiccant will be replaced as needed.
C. Required insurance coverage of the motor and gear box while in storage and transporting is included in the Risk Assessment.
D. Pricing should be based on the vertical motor base size of 8’ x 10’ with motor height of 8’ x 6” and the gearbox crate size of 6’ x 8’. The price for storage of both units billed quarterly. The price must include transportation costs for pickup and delivery of the motor to the City’s specification at time of need.
