ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID
Separate written sealed BIDS for a General Contract for the furnishing of all labor and materials
for the construction of:
CLEARING AND GRUBBING BETWEEN CLEARY RD. AND OLD HWY. 49
will be received by the RANKIN COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS herein after called the
OWNER at the office of the:
RANKIN COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
211 E. GOVERNMENT ST., STE A
BRANDON, MS 39042
Until 10:00am local time on April 10, 2026 and then at said office publicly opened and read
aloud for supplying all labor, equipment and materials necessary for completion of the Clearing
& Grubbing between Cleary Rd. and Old Hwy. 49 project.
A Pre-Bid Conference will be conducted on March 26, 2026, at 10:00am local time in the Board
Room of the Rankin County Board of Supervisors at the above listed address. Attendance by a
principal, project manager or estimator of any prospective bidder is optional, but recommended.
Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi State Law and show Certificate of Responsibility issued
by the Mississippi State Board of Public Contractors.
Project scope includes, but is not limited to, clearing and grubbing, mulching, permanent grassing,
erosion control implementation, and all other items of work in accordance with the plans and
specifications.
The DRAWINGS, SPECIFICATIONS AND CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be examined at the
following locations:

Official Drawings and Specifications are also available for downloaded from Central Bidding at
www.centralbidding.com. For questions related to the electronic bidding process, please call Central
Bidding at 225-810-4814. Hard copies of the Plans, Specifications and Contract documents may be
obtained via request to office@benchmarkms.net for a cost of $150, none of which is refundable.
Bid Security in the amount of 5% of the bid must accompany each bid in accordance with the
INTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. Attorneys-in-fact who sign Bid Bonds, Payment Bonds or
Performance Bonds must file with each bond a certified and effective dated copy of their Power of
Attorney.
Minority and Woman Owned Business Enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime
contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities,
equipment, material and/or supply needs.

The Rankin County Board of Supervisors an Equal Opportunity Employer, and hereby notifies all
bidders will be afforded the full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not
be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability,
sexual preference, marital or veteran status, or any other legally protected status in consideration
for an award.
No prospective CONTRACTOR may withdraw his proposal within SIXTY (60) DAYS after the actual
date of the opening thereof.
Each bidder shall write the Certificate of Responsibility number and Mississippi Contractors License
number on the outside of the sealed envelope containing his proposal. Proposals shall be submitted
in duplicate, sealed, and deposited with the Clerk prior to the hour and date designated above.
The Rankin County Board of Supervisors reserve the right to waive any information or irregularities,
to accept any bid deemed to be in the best interest of the County, or to reject any or all bids.
The Contract Time is Two-Hundred Forty (240) consecutive calendar days with liquidated damages
being Five Hundred Dollars ($500) per calendar day thereafter.
