The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 6, on behalf of the Durham VA Medical Center, is conducting market research for capable SDVOSB and VOSB s to provide a Biosafety cabinet, Class II B2 4ft.
Equipment must have the physical characteristics to enable the government to perform the capabilities:
L2335 Cabinet, Bio Safety, Class II B2, F/S, 4ft by Labconco
Class II biosafety cabinets (BSCs) are USP and compliant for compounding hazardous sterile preparations. Models will provide ISO 5 or better air in the compounding area, with highest quality features to promote safety for compounders and patients alike. Human-centric design, operational intelligence, and easily cleanable surfaces are ideal for safe and comfortable compounding. Class II, Type B2 Biosafety Cabinets provide personnel, product and environmental protection from hazardous particulates such as agents that require Biosafety Level 1, 2 or 3 containments. Other appropriate applications include work with antineoplastic drugs, genetic material, asbestos and additional substances that generate hazardous airborne particulates. The proposed model will be NSF compliant. These biological safety cabinets are designed to be hard ducted to a facility exhaust system. During operation, room air is drawn into the top of the cabinet and through a supply HEPA filter. This filtered air flows downward through the work area. Room air is also drawn into the inlet grille located at the work access opening. All of the contaminated air passes through the exhaust HEPA filter. A dedicated exhaust system and remote blower discharge 100% of the filtered exhaust air from the room. A smooth interior improves cleanability for USP 800 compliance. Configure with an IV bar, base stand, and Ergotron arm to maximize compounding accuracy through aseptic technique.
