Background

The Myrtle Grove Fire Station is a new essential public-safety facility being constructed for Escambia County Fire Rescue.

The facility generally includes:

  • Fire station administrative and operational areas;
  • Apparatus bays;
  • Firefighter dormitory and living areas;
  • Watch/communications room;
  • Kitchen, dining, and day-room areas;
  • Restrooms, showers, and support spaces;
  • Mechanical and electrical systems;
  • Emergency generator;
  • Fire sprinkler and fire-alarm systems;
  • Site improvements and associated infrastructure; and
  • A pre-engineered metal building structural system integrated with the architectural design of the facility.

The PEMB system is intended to provide the primary building structural framework while maintaining the architectural character, dimensions, elevations, clearances, exterior materials, openings, and other requirements established by the Construction Documents.
