DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF LIBRARY LAWN

COPPER BEECH TREE TRUNK SCULPTURE

BID OPENING THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2026, AT 11:00AM

ADVERTISEMENT

The Department of Planning and Economic Development, East Providence Public Library, Mayor DaSilva, and the East Providence Tree Commission, in partnership with the East Providence Arts Council, invite sculptors, artists and artisans to submit proposals for the design and transformation of the remaining stump and trunk of our iconic, historic Copper Beech Tree on the Weaver Library lawn. The goal is to honor this majestic tree with a sculpture that makes the library lawn a destination for all ages.

Specifications may be downloaded from the City’s website https://eastprovidenceri.gov/rfp

One (1) original, three (3) copies and 1 thumb drive of the qualification package shall be submitted in one (1) sealed envelope to East Providence City Hall, Controllers Office, Room 103, Attn: Jessica Lamprey, Procurement Specialist, 145 Taunton Ave., East Providence, RI 02914 no later than THURSDAY, MARCH 5, 2026, AT 11:00AM. The bids will be publicly opened and recorded on the same day at East Providence City Hall in Conference Room A. Bids received with a time of 11:01 AM or later will be rejected. The outside envelope needs to be marked RFQ EP25/26-01 Copper Beech Tree Trunk Sculpture.

The City reserves the right to waive any informality in order to reject any or all bids if deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
