Question No. 14: Do the existing manholes requiring epoxy coating per the bid form have any existing
coatings?
Answer No. 14: To our knowledge, existing manholes do not have any existing coatings. Any existing
manhole being tied into via core drilling will require epoxy coating. Per the plans, this will include
the existing tie-in manholes on sheets 14,18,19 and 29 for a total of 4 manholes.
Question No. 15: Bid items 24, 45, 127, & 141: Can the language on the bid form be revised to
accurately reflect new manhole quantities AND depths? For example: Bid item 24 should have 10
new manholes according to the plans, and roughly 1/3 of the manholes on this project are below 6' in
depth, making the "6'-10' deep" designation for the aforementioned bid items erroneous.
Answer No. 15: Yes, a new bid item will be included to capture manholes 0-6’ deep, and quantities
will be adjusted. See Attachment B - Revised Bid Form.
Question No. 16: Sheets WW-25 & WW-26: Will the existing manholes shown on these pages
require epoxy coating similar to other existing manholes on this project?
Answer No. 16: No, the existing manholes shown on these sheets will not be drilled into as part of
construction. The manhole has existing stub-outs and therefore no modifications will be made to the
manhole(s) with this project.
Question No. 17: Are the low pressure inline/terminal flushing connections considered
"manholes"? And are they subject to the same coating requirements specified in section 09 97 23?
Answer No. 17: The details for low pressure inline and terminal flushing stations utilize the manhole
frame, cover, and 4’ precast manhole sections, and foundation as required. These details do not
require a coating system per Specification 09 97 23.
Please add this Addendum No. 1 to the original proposal documents and refer to proposal documents,
hereto as such. This and all subsequent addenda will become part of any resulting contract documents
