Safety Management System Assessment of Aviation Manuals

Brief Description: MnDOT Aeronautics will engage a qualified external aviation safety auditor to conduct a comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS) Assessment aligned with ICAO and industry best practices. The project includes a structured pre-assessment documentation review, using material defined in the re-formatted final SMS Manual provided in SMS Manual Final Version, followed by a one-day on-site evaluation at hangar 410 of MnDOT Aeronautics’ SMS processes, policies, and operational integration. This assessment will verify conformity with established safety standards, evaluate the effectiveness of current safety practices, and provide objective findings and recommendations report to support continuous improvement. The effort is part of
MnDOT Aeronautics’ ongoing work to strengthen safety oversight and meets internal expectations for SMS enhancement as reflected in prior coordination and data collection activities documented in SMS follow up data.
