Description

The City of Port Coquitlam’s project is to replace the existing drainage pumps at Maple Creek with a new Drainage Pump Station which includes a new building with seismic and structural analysis, and the associated civil, mechanical, and electrical systems. The pump station will be physically situated in the City of Coquitlam at 3004 Riverbend Drive and features an intake system consisting of two (2) 250 HP Archimedes Screw Pumps with flow capacity each up to 2.5 m³/s at 4.3 m total dynamic head. Each screw pump discharges into respective 1350 mm twin discharge pipes. A new immediately adjacent flood box crossing the dike will be constructed with a self-regulating tide gate that will be closed when downstream water levels, influenced by the Coquitlam River reach pump off levels to prevent cross circulation flow that would impact fish passage.

Works includes but is not limited to: excavation and disposal of materials offsite, clearing and grubbing, steel piles, cofferdam, by-pass pumping, trash rake system, bar screens, riprap, pump station building, foundation walls, monorail, MCC, self regulating tide gate, flap gates, slide gates, stop logs, flood box culvert, headwalls, retaining walls, roadside barriers, lighting and signage, and coordination with adjacent City of Port Coquitlam and City of Coquitlam projects.
