The Maintenance Department is responsible for the design and construction of Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) for Spotsylvania County Public Schools. Its mission is to ensure that all SBCS facilities are appropriately planned, designed, constructed and operated. The Maintenance Department assists with the administration of design and construction of new schools, additions and alterations to existing buildings, and renewals of existing school facilities in accordance with approved educational specifications and building codes. Project disciplines required for this project may include, but are not limited to, architectural, civil engineering, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, geotechnical, environmental assessment, interior design, structural, security, acoustical engineering and fire protection
