Request for Proposals – Initiative for Flood Reduction Studies

The Village of Port Jefferson is soliciting Requests for Proposals from qualified consultants to assist with preparing natural disaster loss estimates for Hazard Mitigation planning as part of the Flood Reduction Studies advanced assistance project initiative necessary to mitigate flooding within the low-lying downtown area of the Village of Port Jefferson along Maple Place, Barnum Avenue, and Main Street.

The Incorporated Village of Port Jefferson proposes a flood reduction study initiative that has four components including: Data Acquisition, a Hydrologic and Hydraulic study [H & H], an Evaluation of Alternatives and Conceptual Plan and Cost Estimates for the recommended alternatives. Potential mitigation options to explore and be refined include daylighting the culvert, introducing new detention areas, upgrading the existing culvert, installing a new sub-surface culvert and additional measures that become apparent during the study effort.

Sealed Proposals will be received by Village Clerk Sylvia Pirillo at Port Jefferson Village Hall, located at 121 West Broadway, Port Jefferson, 11777 on or before 1:00 p.m. prevailing time on Monday, December 30, 2024 when they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Late proposals will not be accepted.

The complete Proposal Package can be obtained from the Village Clerk’s Office from Monday through Friday, beginning on November 15, 2024 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. prevailing time, for a fee of $ 20.00 per Bid Package, and is also available on the official Village of Port Jefferson website: www.portjeff.com

All questions must be received in writing by Village Clerk Sylvia Pirillo: at spirillo@portjeff.com no later than 4:00 p.m. on December 19, 2024.

All bids must be received promptly by 1:00 p.m. on December 30, 2024 at Village Hall in a sealed envelope clearly marked: Initiative for Flood Reduction Studies - # 140-2024.

Please note that conformance to the Davis-Bacon Act requiring the payment of prevailing wages is required.

The Incorporated Village of Port Jefferson reserves the right to reject any/all submitted quotations, or any part of the submitted quotation received.
