1.2 Background Information
Following through with commitments outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding dated effective April 21, 2023, the Government of Alberta, Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation (ACHF), Alberta Health Services, (AHS) and the University of Calgary (UCalgary) are capitalizing on the ideal convergence of opportunity, strengths, and momentum to build a new Centre for Research & Innovative Care at the Alberta Children’s Hospital (ACH). The Centre will be a key asset to support the Government of Alberta’s direction to refocus the health system, adding to Alberta’s leadership in positively impacting individual patient outcomes while improving the overall effectiveness and sustainability of the health system.
