The San Antonio Water System (SAWS) is pursing Call for Title Services (Call) for water and sewer easements and other real estate rights related to the acquisition of Real Property in its various proposed and on-going projects which will require a Scope of Services to be performed by a qualified consultant or consultant firm including easement acquisitions, fee simple acquisitions and disposal of SAWS surplus property.

RESPONSES TO QUESTIONS

1. Question: Can you tell me if the attached RFI is for Title only or will you need Right of Way

services as well?

Response: The RFI is for title services only. Right of Way Services are not needed.

2. Question: Historically, what has been the annual transaction count and average contract

purchase price?

Response: SAWS’ acquisitions and dispositions of real property vary greatly, depending on

the System’s needs. In 2023 use was approximately $10 Million in total purchase price.

3. Question: What is the projected volume for future acquisitions?

Response: The projected volume solely depends on the System’s needs. No dollar amount is

available.

4. Question: What is the current/future budget amount for acquisitions?

Response: Acquisitions are done per project basis. There is not a budget.

5. Question: Do you have an approved list of AA insurance carriers or will any carrier AA rated

be approved?

Response: SAWS does not have an approved list of carriers, however any carrier that has an

A.M. Best rating of A- with a Financial Size Category of “VII” will meet the insurance

specification requirements and are considered acceptable.
