Re: Professional Engineering & Surveying Services – SR 571 (West Main Street) Widening & Utility Extension Project
The City of Tipp City, Ohio (City) is requesting Statements of Qualifications from qualified professional engineering and surveying firms to provide the professional design services necessary for the SR 571 (West Main Street) Widening & Utility Extension Project.
This solicitation is a qualifications-based selection for professional design services. The City will evaluate and rank firms based on qualifications, experience, technical approach, personnel, availability, schedule, and other relevant qualifications.
Following selection and ranking, the City intends to negotiate a contract with the firm ranked most qualified. Compensation will be negotiated at the time in accordance with applicable law. If negotiations with the highest ranked firm are unsuccessful, the City may terminate negotiations and proceed to the next ranked firm.
Project Background
The City owns approximately 60 acres at the intersection of County Road 25A and SR 571 and is planning commercial development of the property. The City has entered into a real estate option agreement with Meijer for development of a general merchandise and grocery store, with additional out lot development and potentially other uses.
The City is responsible for public improvements associated with the development, including roadway improvements, sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, traffic signal improvements, and associated decorative street lighting. The Project is not an ODOT project and does not have an ODOT PID/State Project ID. The City has received state capital funding/grant funding and intends to follow applicable state requirements.
A traffic impact study has been completed for the development and will be made available to the selected consultant. The traffic study’s project limits and improvement descriptions are incorporated into this RFQ as the current basis for the roadway and traffic scope.
