Description
|
The project scope includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to complete the BNIA – Parking Structure Repairs contract. Work includes, but is not limited to: spall repair and epoxy crack injection of prestressed slabs, beams, and precast or cast-in-place concrete elements such as columns, stairs, walls, and beams; reconditioning or replacement of corroded reinforcing; repair of elastomeric traffic coating where impacted by concrete repairs; replacement or repair of drain guards; extension and repair of concrete corbels and restoration of associated bearing pads; and replacement of masonry blocks, all as indicated in the contract drawings and specifications. The contractor is responsible for completing all work in accordance with the project documents and any additional direction provided by the Owner or Architect.

Online registration is required to become a Document Holder and obtain Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract Documents are available and may be requested from Cindy Cirbus at 716-855-7342 or fax 716-855-7447 or downloaded from the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. The Contract Documents may be picked up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., or sent via courier billed to the requester.

The NFTA reserves the right to waive irregularities, to reject any or all bids and to extend the bidding period.
Bid security must accompany each bid and must be in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid price if the base bid exceeds $50,000.00. Bid security may be submitted prior to bid opening either electronically utilizing Surety2000 at www.surety2000.com, or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Details for electronic submission are provided on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. In the event a bidder utilizes an offline bid but provides bid security electronically the electronic bid bond number must be submitted with the offline bid.
The Contractor shall perform not less than 40% of the work with its own forces.
The time of completion for the project is 90 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages in the amount of $1,000 per calendar day will be assessed against the Contractor for its failure to complete the project within the time specified.
The NFTA goals for this procurement are: New York State Certified Minority Business Enterprise 3.0%, New York State Certified Women-Owned Business Enterprise 12.0% and New York Certified Service Disabled Veterans Owned Businesses 3.0%.
A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Friday August 22, 10:00AM at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, 4200 Genesee Street, Cheektowaga NY 14225 in the 2nd floor large conference room 2E76.
