Collection of Cardboard

The contractor shall collect cardboard daily by 10:00 AM from a compactor dumpster provided by the contractor.



The dumpster shall be moved to the contractor's vehicle, emptied, and returned to its original location.



Collection of HDPE Plastic

The contractor shall collect HDPE plastic weekly on Fridays by 10:00 AM from a compactor dumpster provided by the

contractor.



The dumpster shall be moved to the contractor's vehicle, emptied, and returned to its original location.



Rental of Cardboard and HDPE Plastic Compactor Dumpsters

Compactor dumpsters must be compatible with the facility’s infrastructure and Tucson CMOP’s one-cubic-yard tilt trucks.



Dumpsters must have a safety interlock to disable operation when the loading door is open.



They must be Locked Out Tag Out (LOTO) capable, with written instructions on how to perform the procedure provided to the Tucson CMOP.



Dumpsters shall meet or exceed all Federal, State, Local, and OSHA standards.



The contractor shall provide a control switch and training on the proper operation of the compactor.





Installation of Compactor Dumpsters

The CMOP shall furnish two 480VAC 3-phase disconnects at the installation site.



The contractor shall place collection containers in an area designated by the CMOP.



The contractor must provide a temporary collection method until the existing equipment is removed and new equipment is installed, if required.



Loading ramps installed by the contractor shall be freestanding but may be secured to the recycling equipment for enhanced stability.



Any deviations from these specifications must be pre-negotiated and explicitly detailed within the contract.



Current Usage

Cardboard: 30 tons per month

HDPE Plastic: 15 tons per month



Performance Standards

Timeliness



Cardboard shall be collected daily by 10:00 AM.



HDPE plastic shall be collected weekly on Fridays by 10:00 AM



Cleanliness and Safety



The contractor shall maintain the cleanliness of the area surrounding the dumpsters.



The contractor shall promptly clean up any spillage that occurs during the collection process.



Contractor-provided dumpsters shall be managed securely to prevent the loss of materials.



Contractor-provided dumpsters shall be cleaned and sanitized; replacements must be provided within 24 hours if necessary.



All collection activities shall be performed using OSHA-compliant equipment to ensure the safety and well-being of personnel and to prevent accidents.



Contractor personnel shall adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure work environment and prevent potential hazards.



The contractor shall provide any necessary maintenance, parts, and labor to repair the compactor if necessary.



Equipment failures must be repaired by 3:30 PM the day after they are reported.



Temporary containment solutions must be provided to prevent service disruption.



Recycling Documentation



The contractor shall promote the sale of collected recyclable materials to recycling facilities and shall remit the proceeds to the Tucson CMOP through a monthly check.



The contractor shall furnish weight tickets at each collection.



The contractor shall furnish weight tickets issued by the recycling center with each invoice to substantiate the quantity of recyclable material collected.



Weight tickets must include the date and time of collection, as well as the name of the recycling center.



Recyclable materials must be delivered promptly to a processing facility to ensure proper handling and documentation.





Customer Service



The contractor shall designate a contact person who will be accessible during operational hours to address any concerns or emergencies.



Complaints will be documented by the COR within 24 hours and must be addressed by the contractor within 24 hours of notification.



The contractor is responsible for ensuring that any issues reported are documented and tracked until they are resolved.
