This project is a re-bid of RFB FY2025 #011 due to changes in scope of work & RFB FY2025 #044 (clarifying information on line items)


Overview: The Iowa Department of Transportation's District 6 is seeking bids for a qualifed contractor to; Repair subdrain tile along the north side of US Highway 20 from milepost 250.8-250.9 (Station 301+40 to 304+90) as per scope & specifications. This project is located in Buchanan County. Please see Attachment tab for relevant documents.

Scope: Please reference 'RFB FY2025 #067 Specification & Project Information' document for specifications, project information, site diagrams, and permit information.  This document can be found on the Attachments tab.
Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: Meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. Other factors may also include a comprehensive review of bidders as work performance and work capacity.
  • Estimated project start date- Upon issuance of award(The date shall be coordinated with the IDOT Project Manager. (This is the estimated start date after all required documents are received (i.e., Insurance, performance bond and vendor signed contract).
  • Estimated project end date- 11/23/2024 (This includes resolution to all punch list items, inspections and DOT acceptance typically used in construction bids)
Contract Award: One contract will be awarded for all items. All items are tied. Quantities listed are estimates only. Actual purchases may vary considerably based on actual needs throughout the contract period.
Project Timeline: Start and completion dates listed in this solicitation are desired dates. Bidders are welcome to propose other reasonable dates for DOT consideration based on but not limited to; lead time for materials, beginning or ends of seasonal periods, coordination and availability of subcontractors. If new dates are proposed, please see attribute #4.
Communication: Until a contract is awarded the sole point of contact for the solicitation is the Purchasing Agent identified in the solicitation.
All questions must be directed solely to the Purchasing Agent listed in the bid opportunity. We encourage vendor to upload all questions on or before the question cut off due date and time in ION wave. Responses to questions will be communicated out to vendors via DOT’s ION wave bid system.
Bid Responses shall be submitted within DOT’s ION wave Bid System or signed and prepared in ink or typewritten in the solicitation documents provided. Telephonic, email or facsimile responses shall not be considered.
Site Visits: A pre-bid site visit is highly recommended . To schedule a site visit, contractors must contact Kyle Williams at kyle.williams@iowadot.us with a date and time of when the contractor wishes to conduct a site visit. Contractors may visit the site by appointment only. Please provide a 24 hour notice before your requested visit date.
