All bids to this RFP must be submitted through the RDCO's electronic bidding platform:
Through this Request for Proposals, the Regional District of Central Okanagan invites Proposals from organizations experienced in conducting logging and timber salvage, to perform such services for the removal of approximately 3,275 m3 from Rose Valley Regional Park, and 340 m3 from Stephens Coyote Ridge Regional Park, of merchantable burnt timber volume. The timber to be removed was burnt during the 2023 McDougall Creek wildfire, and have been identified as a risk to recreational trail users in the parks due to their location within 1.5 tree lengths of existing trails. The Regional District’s intent is that; merchantable timber salvaged under this contract can be re-sold to local timber mills, and any non-merchantable fibre made available for hog fuel.
Timeline : the services may commence anytime after the District has executed a contract for the Services (anticipated by November 15, 2024) and all necessary paperwork is in-place, including a Forest License to Cut executed with the Province by the successful Respondent. All Service must be completed no later than March 15, 2025.
