LEGAL NOTICE ADVERTISEMENT
Sealed bids for turn-key Hoover Lake House (Bid #26-011) in Hoover, Jefferson County, will be
received by the City of Hoover at City Hall, 100 Municipal Lane, Hoover, Alabama 35216 until 2:00 p.m.
CST August 19, 2026, at which time Bids will be opened and publicly read. A cashier's check or bid
bond payable to the City of Hoover in an amount of not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the
bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and
Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing
of the contract.
Mandatory Pre-Bid meeting and site tour: The bidder is encouraged to have in attendance its
project coordinator/estimator at the mandatory pre-bid meeting and site tour on July 29, 2026, at
10:00AM local time at the project site, 300 Municipal Lane, Hoover, Alabama 35216. A tour of the
project area will be conducted after the meeting.
Bid Documents will be made available to prospective bidders on July 22, 2026, via Alabama Graphics
Digital Planroom. Digital downloads and printed copies are available for purchase directly thru Alabama
Graphics. (205-252-8505, www.algraphics.com). Documents will be available for viewing at
https://www.algraphicsplanroom.com/.
Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Architect or copies thereof. All bidders
bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors
must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show
evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Architect; the bidder
shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the
sealed envelope in which the bid is delivered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all
proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgement, the best interests of the Owner
will thereby be promoted.
The City of Hoover hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered
into pursuant to this advertisement, Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) will be afforded full
opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the

grounds of race, color, gender, religion, age, disability, marital status or national origin in consideration
for an award.
The attention of Bidders is called to the provisions of Section 31-13-9, Code of Alabama 1975 relating
to Immigration Law compliance and documentation thereof (i.e. participation in the Federal E-Verify
program). The successful Bidder will be required to sign a contract that includes the following provision
related to Immigration: 'By signing this contract, the contracting parties affirm, for the duration of the
agreement, that they will not violate federal immigration law or knowingly employ, hire for employment
or continue to employ an unauthorized alien within the state of Alabama. Furthermore, a contracting
party found to be in violation of this provision shall be deemed in breach of the agreement and shall be
responsible for all damages resulting therefrom.
