NOTICE TO CONTRACTORSforWater Tank Numbering Project
The City of Arcata (City) is soliciting bids for the Water Tank Numbering Project. The Project includes surface preparation and painting numbers on select tanks throughout the City’s water distribution system in Arcata, California.
The Work consists of painting identification numbers on a total of twelve water tanks using characters that are 72” high with a width of 14.” There are nine steel tanks, two wooden tanks and one concrete tank. The tanks range between 12’ and 37’ feet high. Preparation of tank surface prior to the application of paint is required. It is the responsibility of the contractor to identify and obtain paint appropriate for application to each of the three different tank surface material types. The contractor is responsible for securing all appropriate equipment for working at heights of up to 40’.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 9 AM on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, beginning at Arcata City Hall, 736 F Street, then proceeding to each of the eleven tank sites. Bidders should plan for this meeting to last up to three hours.
Proposals will be received at the City Manager’s Office, 736 F Street, Arcata, California until 11 AM on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Proposals must be submitted within a sealed envelope labeled: “Water Tank Numbering Project.” All responses must be made on the Bid Proposal and Schedule provided in Attachment B to be considered for award.
Contractors must possess a Class C-33 Contractor’s License at the time this contract is bid, or a combination of classes required by the categories and type of work included in this contract. Contractors must also obtain a valid Business License from the City of Arcata prior to commencing work and demonstrate the necessary qualifications to complete the work described in the Scope of Work in Attachment A. The selected contractor will enter into a construction contract (Attachment C - Sample Construction Contract) prior to commencing work.
The City has determined that prevailing wages apply to this Project. The selected contractor must register with the State Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5 prior to award of a contract.
