A SITE VISIT IS SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 10:00 A.M. AT THE CHERRY HILL PUBLIC LIBRARY, 1100 KINGS HIGHWAY NORTH, CHERRY HILL, NJ.  THIS MEETING IS NOT MANDATORY BUT IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT ALL BIDDERS ATTEND.

This RFP is seeking to select a café vendor will provide for food and beverage items in a non-cooking environment throughout the day.  Hot food items prepared off site are allowed as well as light duty, warming accessories, coffee makers, etc.  The café features indoor and outdoor eating areas

The CHPL provides comfortable seating and reading material as well as services for coffee, other beverages and some food items for patrons to offer a greater library experience.  The library believes that providing these services is an opportunity to provide a better overall environment for its patrons and to generate additional revenues for the library.


The library does not currently have an exclusive contract for café operations.


Proposals may be submitted to operate a retail café offering a wide range of food and beverage throughout the day on a daily basis to the public. To be profitable, the café should offer a variety of items ranging from snacks to light lunch, as well as seasonal items. The area behind the counter is approximately 8’ x 16’ with a 16’ x 24’ atrium eating area with six tables and sixteen café chairs and standup / stool counter. Configured service space can be negotiated. Offeror is responsible for providing all service and display counters, cash registers and preparation accessories.

The Library is requesting proposals from qualified café vendors to enter into an exclusive agreement for the operation of a café at the Library.

The café will provide beverages and high quality lite fare to Library customers and staff at moderate prices. A discount will be provided to CHPL staff (showing proper identification) in an amount of not less than 10%.

The café hours will coincide with the hours of operation of the library and café service may conclude one hour before the Library closes to the public

Qualifications:
An annual food license must be obtained yearly from the Cherry Hill Township Clerk’s Office, Room 107, 820 Mercer Street, Cherry Hill, NJ. License must be displayed on site at all times.
Special Requirements:
The vendor shall provide with their proposal submission examples or menu of their high-quality lite fare that will be offered for sale.

The selected vendor shall identify on all pre-prepared food packages/containers the date the food selection was prepared. There will be no exceptions to this policy.

Miscellaneous:
The applicant/proposer shall submit one (1) original with original signatures marked “ORIGINAL” and should submit one (1) complete and exact copy of the original marked “COPY” of his/her proposal and should submit an electronic copy on a flash drive.
