Description
BC Pension Corporation is seeking two (2) Senior Java Developers.
The Corporation intends to offer a one (1) year service contract commencing from the date of the contract signing with two (2) options to extend a further one (1) year.

ROLE OVERVIEW
The Pension Corporation seeks to engage a vendor to provide an experienced Senior Java Developer well versed in the Liferay platform. This developer will support the corporation in upgrading our employer and member platforms, which run on Liferay, and other initiatives to deliver employer-based services .
The Java Developer will assist the software development team with the analysis of technical problems, the design of solutions informed by design patterns and best practices and the production of software code (including unit tests and build scripts) using Java technologies. This role will be involved in the development and maintenance of various systems over the course of the contract.
Description of Services
The Java Developer will be responsible to provide solution design and development services including, but not limited to:
• Transformation of business requirements into solution plans
• Estimation of effort for design and development tasks
• Design of technical systems to implement solution plans
• Development of production-quality, standards-compliant code using Java technologies
• Creation of unit-tests to harden the solution’s components
• Participation in standard SDLC tasks and activities
• Reporting on issues and progress.
