Overview

Summary

The City of Pasadena seeks proposals from qualified consultants to plan, manage, and deliver public events for Pasadena Bike Month in May 2026 and May 2027. Pasadena Bike Month is a month‑long series of inclusive, family‑friendly bicycling events designed to inspire riders of all ages and abilities. The selected consultant will be responsible for organizing a minimum of eight events each year, for a total of sixteen events across the two contract years.

Background

The consultant must also have a proven track record in planning, coordinating, and executing community events, particularly in partnership with community‑based organizations and in cities comparable in size and complexity to Pasadena. Additional required capabilities include event marketing and promotion, community engagement, and administrative management such as participant registration and event logistics.

The consultant team must demonstrate experience leading guided bicycle rides that are safe, accessible, and appropriate for all ages and abilities. Consultant staffing that includes League Cycling Instructors (LCIs) or staff with comparable training would be an important way to demonstrate this experience in the proposal.

Proposals should clearly describe the consultant’s relevant experience, outline the approach to delivering the required tasks, and demonstrate the team’s capacity to successfully execute and address the requirements of all Pasadena Bike Month activities.
