Description


The City of Decatur is requesting sealed proposals from qualified firms to provide professional engineering and consulting services for the 2026 Decatur Speed Study. The purpose of this study is to support the City's Vision Zero goals by conducting a comprehensive, data-driven evaluation of vehicle speeds on select corridors and developing recommendations for speed limit modifications in accordance with Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) requirements, and other speed management changes as needed.

Proposals will be received by the City of Decatur Public Works Department until March 11, 2026, at 3:00 PM EST, at which time submissions will close. Proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked "2026 Decatur Speed Study Proposal" and delivered to:

A mandatory pre-proposal conference will be held on February 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Decatur Public Works, 2635 Talley Street, Decatur, Georgia. Attendance is required for proposals to be considered.

The Request for Proposals (RFP), including detailed scope and submission requirements, is available at www.decaturga.com/requestforproposals. Questions regarding this solicitation must be submitted in writing to Julie Harlan, Active Transportation Director, at julie.harlan@decaturga.com.

All proposers must comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and demonstrate the qualifications and experience necessary to perform the requested services. The City reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, waive technicalities and informalities, negotiate changes in the scope of services, and award a contract in the best interest of the City of Decatur.
