Description

NOTICE OF INTENT to AWARD SOLE SOURCE Contract for Pharmaceutical Waste Collection and Disposal Services - Crownpoint Healthcare Facility

The Navajo Area Indian Health Service, Crownpoint Service Unit, Pharmacy Department, hereby provides notice of its intent to award a sole source, firm-fixed-price contract to Stericycle, Inc. for Pharmaceutical Waste Collection and Disposal Services at the Crownpoint Healthcare Facility.

This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract and is not a request for competitive quotes. The Government intends to award this contract in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1)(ii), which permits sole source awards when only one source is reasonably available.

The justification for this sole source award is that Stericycle, Inc. is the sole vendor capable of meeting the requirement. They are the sole provider of Pharmaceutical Waste Collection and Disposal Services in our remote location, essential for daily operations and patient care support within the Crownpoint Healthcare Facility.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 562112 - Hazardous Waste Collection.

This notice of intent does not constitute a solicitation. However, if any interested party believes they can meet the stated requirement, a statement of capabilities may be submitted. The statement of capabilities must be submitted in writing and contain clear and convincing evidence demonstrating that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Any costs incurred by respondents in the preparation and submission of data or any other costs associated with responding to this announcement will be the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed by the Government.

Capability statements must be submitted via email only as a Portable Document Format (PDF) attachment to Brenda.joe@ihs.gov by Close of Business (COB) September 18, 2025. Telephone requests or offers will not be considered.
