BID DUE/OPENING DATE: Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. Local Time (ET)

INTENT:  It is the intent of these plans and specifications to provide for a contractor who shall provide all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to perform in a professional manner for the City Fiber Conduit Work at different locations as described in the specifications and bid document.

SCOPE:  T he purpose of this project is to upgrade the fiber optic network at three separate locations to improve communication between traffic signal cabinets and City water facilities. Each location is an independent installation with no interconnection between sites.

a. At Stadium Drive, the fiber optic conduit and cable installation begins at the Rambling Road Traffic Signal Cabinet and ends at the Stadium Drive Water Station, as shown in the plans.

b. At W. Kilgore Road, the fiber optic conduit and cable installation begins at the Westnedge Avenue and W. Kilgore Road signal crossing and ends at the Water Station on Duke Street, as shown in the plans.

c. At Kalamazoo Avenue, the fiber optic conduit and cable installation connects the Kalamazoo Avenue Traffic Signal Cabinet to the Kalamazoo Avenue Water Station, as shown in the plans.

Work includes installing conduit, outdoor fiber optic cable, pull boxes, splicing, enclosures, terminations, testing, and labeling. All work shall meet City and MDOT requirements. The Contractor shall be MDOT pre-qualified for traffic signal work.
