Adult-Use Cannabis Application Planning Advisor

The City of Pontiac Michigan Clerk's Office is seeking a professional planner or planning consulting firm to review the planning review sections of the adult-use cannabis applications. The planning consultant preferably should have their AICP certification. The consultant will evaluate the related ordinances, planning and zoning criteria, and scoring metrics pertinent to the implementation and oversight of the adult-use marihuana establishments within the City. The engagement shall mutually benefit both parties through an agreed-upon compensation structure. The City received 23 adult-use cannabis applications.

Ordinance #2424, the City of Pontiac Adult-Use Marihuana Business Ordinance, was approved on February 27, 2024. The ordinance allows adult-use marihuana establishments to operate in the City of Pontiac. The ordinance gives the City Clerk the responsibility to access, evaluate and rank all applications for permits to operate a retailer, social equity retailer, and class A microbusiness. Under the ordinance, the City Clerk may engage professional expert consultant assistance in performing the City Clerk's duties and responsibilities.
