Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI/SOURCES SOUGHT. This is NOT a solicitation announcement. This is a Sources Sought Notice / RFI only. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice / RFI is to gain information about potential qualified sources and their size classification relative to NAICS 336411. After review of the responses to this Sources Sought Notice / RFI, further RFIs and/or a solicitation or other announcements may be published. Department of the Air Force, B-52 System Program Office is seeking contactor to manufacture aircraft EMP hardened cables There are three types of EMP hardened cables on the B-52 aircraft. The first type has three layers of protective shielding consisting of a braided overall shield, a laminated copper foil tape wrap and a second braided overall shield. The second type has two layers of protective shielding consisting of two braided overall shields. The third type has a single overall braided shield. All three types of cables are covered with either a braided fabric jacket or an extruded plastic jacket. The hardened/shielded cable assemblies must be fabricated in accordance with military specifications. The hardened cable assemblies are located throughout the aircraft ranging from 1 to 130 feet. All material, parts to fabricate the assemblies must also meet military specifications.

If your company is interested and can demonstrate the firm’s ability, capability, and responsibility to deliver the equipment summarized above, we encourage you to respond to the announcement with a statement of your qualifications and capability. In order to do so, you need to provide:

5. A summary of your company’s expertise in the manufacturing of the part.

6. A summary of your company’s delivery capability

7. A summary of your company’s experience in First Article Testing

8. A summary of the place of performance

9. Is the NAICS Code appropriate for the item being requested?

Statements of your firm’s expertise should include reference to relevant contracts performed. (Including a description of the scope, quantity manufactured, contract number, and point of contact with phone number).

All interested firms and manufacturers, regardless of size, may respond to this request for information. Information submission can include produce literature and illustrations, relevant company background/experience. Responses should be addressed to SAM. and should be received no later than 14 March 2025 at 4:00 P.M. CST.

Again, this information is being requested for Government planning purposes only and does not commit the Government to any contractual agreement. This is not a request for proposals. The Government will not award a contract based upon responses to this announcement. The Government shall not reimburse or pay any costs for preparing or submitting in response to this notice.
