Project Title: Canvas LMS Accessibility Tool
Description: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, for its Digital Accessibility Office (DAO) (the “University”) is seeking proposals for an accessibility tool that integrates into Canvas, the University’s learning management system (LMS). The University does not currently have any accessibility tools for Canvas outside of what is built into the platform. The DAO wishes to procure new tool to support instructors and course content creators during the campus wide initiatives to meet the new ADA guidelines of WCAG 2.1 accessibility by 2026. A Canvas LMS accessibility tool should ensure that all instructors can begin to remediate their own content. In addition to seamlessly integrating with Canvas itself and the LMS customization already in place, the tool should perform content accessibility checks, provide alternative formats, offer interactive accessibility features, integrate with existing tools, generate compliance reports, and provide user training and support. These capabilities help create an inclusive learning environment by ensuring that course materials meet accessibility standards and are usable by all students.
