San Miguel County is requesting proposals and accepting sealed bids from experienced contractors to remove the existing compact florescent lighting fixtures at the Bus Barn in Norwood and replace them with high-bay LED fixtures and as described in the scope of work below. Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference:

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held by appointment with Greg Pollio (970-369-5424). It is the responsibility of the bidder to arrange for the pre-bid conference appointment. The purpose of this pre-bid conference will be to discuss and clarify the scope of work.


Bidders are required to attend and participate in the pre-bid conference. Sealed bids will be opened and read by staff following the bid submission deadline. Bidders will be subsequently notified after the successful bidder has been determined.


Scope of Work:

Work to be performed generally includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • To remove and dispose of existing 11 compact florescent light fixtures in all of the bus barn bays.
  • To purchase and install (modify existing wiring to accommodate new fixtures) High Bay
  • LED fixtures. The goal is to provide adequate safe light- i.e. lumens and color of light- for all functions that could occur in the vehicle bays.
  • To obtain all licenses and permits to complete the project.
  • Bid Option I: Contractor shall bid the project by using the exact LED High Bay Fixtures as replacement fixtures and as outlined in Exhibit A.
  • Bid Option II: Contractor may submit a bid presenting an alternative replacement LED High Bay Fixture. The alternative fixture must meet the goals of the project as described.

Award of bid shall be based on price, experience, references and ability to perform the work as determined by San Miguel County.


Agreement for Services:

The contractor shall read and agree to the “Independent Contractor Agreement” contract prior to beginning work. This contract defines the project, the term and services to be performed. This is a legal document between the contractor and San Miguel County. A copy is included in the Bid Package.
