NOTICE TO BIDDERS

COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF REFUSE AND RECYCLABLES

Notice is hereby given that the Town Council of the Town of Griffith, Lake County, Indiana,

pursuant to a Resolution adopted on the 21st day of July, 2026, will receive sealed competitive

bids for the Collection and Disposal of Residential Refuse and Recyclables within the corporate

limits of the Town of Griffith, Indiana.

Sealed bids will be received by Gina Smith, Clerk-Treasurer, at the Griffith Town Hall, 111 N.

Broad Street, Griffith, Indiana 46319, until 7:00 p.m. (CDT) on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at

which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud during the regular meeting

of the Griffith Town Council.

The contract will be for a term of three (3) years, with the Town holding the exclusive option of

two (2) additional three-year renewals. Services include weekly curbside collection of non-

hazardous refuse, garbage, rubbish, and co-mingled recyclables from approximately 5,050

dwelling units, together with special event support, roll-off containers, and related services as

more particularly described in the Invitation to Bid and Specifications.

Complete bid documents, including the Invitation to Bid (ITB No. ITB-2026-Refuse-001),

Specifications, Pricing Forms, and Sample Contract, may be obtained from the Office of the

Clerk-Treasurer at the address above during regular business hours, or by contacting Gina Smith,

Clerk-Treasurer.

Bids must be submitted on the forms provided, sealed, and clearly marked on the exterior:

“SEALED BID – REFUSE AND RECYCLABLES COLLECTION – TOWN OF GRIFFITH – DO

NOT OPEN UNTIL AUGUST 25, 2026”. Each bid shall include completed pricing for both

Option 1 (New Totes) and Option 2 (Existing Totes), proof of required insurance, performance

bond commitment in the amount of Three Hundred Thousand Dollars ($300,000.00), references,

equipment list, proposed disposal sites, and financial information as required by the ITB.

The Town of Griffith reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities or

irregularities in the bidding process, to negotiate with the lowest responsible and responsive

bidder, and to award the contract in the best interest of the Town. Award will be made to the

lowest responsible and responsive bidder as determined by the Town Council. The Town’s

decision shall be final.

Bidders are advised that the successful contractor will be required to furnish a performance bond

in the amount of $300,000.00, renewable annually, and to maintain comprehensive insurance

coverages naming the Town of Griffith as an additional insured, all as set forth in the bid

documents.
