Pursuant to the General Statutes of North Carolina, Section 143-128 et. seq, contractors
are invited to submit Sealed Single Prime Construction bids providing labor, material, and
equipment for entering into a Single Prime Contract. The scope of work includes but is not
limited to the following:
The replacement of the existing 2000-gallon AST. Install new 2000-gallon UL 2085 Fireguard DW
AST 8500 Battle Bridge Road Raleigh, NC 27610.
Cost Specifications:
The total cost of this project will be included within the bid package. All labor, materials, new
equipment and permitting fees in relation to the purpose of this project are to be included.
Project Overview & Scope:
Project Overview:
Provide equipment and labor to remove existing 2000-gallon AST.
Install new 2000-gallon UL 2085 Fireguard Double Walled AST; install 3" fill piping for remote fill;
install product piping; install Wayne dispenser supplied by customer and connect to existing fuel
controller. Haul and dispose of all debris.

Tank Requirements:
Capacity: 2000 Gallons
Type: Double Wall AST UL 2085
Brand: No specific brand has been identified
Must be NEW – refurbished or used equipment will not be accepted
Must meet all local inspection codes.
Scope:
1. Removal
• Disconnect and remove existing 2,000 Gallon Above Ground Storage Tank.
• Properly dispose of the old AST per local regulations.
• Remove existing electrical sub-panel at fuel island.
2. AST Replacement
• Supply a new 2,000-gallon AST that is UL 2085 compliant.
• Transportation of AST and equipment to the site, and storage of AST and equipment
on site are the responsibility of the contractor.
3. Installation:
• Install the new UL 2085 AST in the same physical location.
• Install 3" fill piping for remote fill; install product piping;
• Install Wayne dispenser supplied by customer and connect to existing fuel controller
• Install shielded cable from new tank to existing tank monitor for probe.
• Install Emergency Fuel shutoff at fuel island.
• All work to meet electrical code.
• Haul and dispose of all debris.
4. Instrumentation
• Furnish and install new tank gauge that will integrate with the E.J. Ward Fuel
Management system (Omntec Tank Monitor).
5. Commissioning & Testing:
• Perform startup and performance testing.
• Coordinate with facility management for final acceptance testing.
6. Documentation:
• Provide complete warranty information to city staff.
7. Work Hours
• All work is to be performed during normal business hours (Monday to Friday from
7:30 am to 3:30 pm) unless otherwise specified.
Notes:
- A site visit is required prior to bidding to verify all field conditions, including dimensions,
logistics, and access for removal and installation of the new tank.
- The new AST must closely match the dimensions and connection points of the existing unit
to avoid significant modifications to the AST pad, power conduit, and piping.

Bidders will be required to show evidence that they are licensed to perform the work in the Bidding
Documents as required by North Carolina General Statute, Chapter 87 and the Instruction to Bidders.
Sealed bids: Bidders are responsible for ensuring delivery by shipping or hand delivery.

is mandatory. Pre-bid attendance may be used to validate bid submissions.
