The proposed contract consists of free growing and regeneration plot surveys across the Columbia Zone operating area. The contract also consists of planting quality and both herbaceous and manual cutting brushing quality surveys. Surveys are to be completed as per the most recent Silviculture Survey Procedures Manual. As such, dispersed retention data will also be collected during even aged free growing surveys and basal area included on the survey report. There are approximately 42 survey units totaling 798.74 hectares and approximately 807 plots.
SNAP! survey data collection software must be used in the execution of this contract.
The Okanagan-Columbia 2018-2028 FSP commencing September 1, 2018, will be utilized for the term of the contract.
The contractor will be responsible for all aspects of field data collection, generating summary reports, and uploading to LRM via the SNAP! data link. Priority dates for submission are detailed in the Schedule C specimen document attached to this tender.

Be aware that BCTS has made changes to its EMS and SFM programs to meet the updated 2022 Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Forest Management Standard. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI Awareness documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022.
Supervisors and workers will need to be familiar with these changes prior to commencement of operations.
