Notice of Intent to Issue a Sole Source Award for X-Ray Scanning Systems

The Department of War (DOW), Washington Headquarters Services, Acquisition Directorate, (WHS/AD) intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of RFO Part 12.102 (a) and 12.201-1, which implements 41 U.S.C. 1901 to Astrophysics, Inc. for an X-ray screening system, Model XIS-6545DV, as the vendor has capability provide the system with the required dimensions along with meeting the security and delivery requirements. The x-ray model is capable of screening carry‑on and medium‑sized luggage, the system will support security operations requiring high‑resolution imaging, dual‑energy material discrimination, and TSA/ECAC‑compliant detection capabilities.

Astrophysics’ Model XIS 6545DV, represents the only model with the minimum performance, safety, operational standards, and dimensions to meet the Government’s requirements.
